Linguae is a blog in which I and several friends will make posts in another language of our choice. I came up with this idea so that I wouldn't completely lose my Latin skills over the summer, but I'm also going to use it to try out new languages I'm making an effort to learn.

Iste stultus trans via. - 4:44 PM

Vir trans via navem habet. Navis sonitum malum facit. Navis sonitum in nocte aliquando facit. Vir stultum est; de vicinis eius non cogitat. Iste vir est durus! Mea familia eum non amamus.

Mea lingua Latina est mala. - 10:51 PM

Multa verba in Wheelock's Latin non sunt. Librum novum cum multis verbis egeo acquirere. Nulla verba habeo uti. Nunc Internet utor. Mea lingua Latina mala fierit. >:P

I didn't think my Latin was this sucky until I tried to compose my own paragraph. Apparently the Romans did not have dictionaries to make a word for (Romans have no dictionaries; Romans need no dictionaries), so I just have to say "multa verba" instead. Because there wasn't a word for "list" either. In summerization, the glossary in Wheelock's Latin doesn't provide me with much help unless I want to say "The poet gave the girl a rose" a lot. So I'm using the Internet to find more useful vocab words. Ugh. How can I say anything if there aren't any words for the things I want to say? I definitely need to buy a Latin dictionary for myself.
