FAQ
Q: What is Winamp?
A: Winamp is a music player that can be downloaded from Winamp.com.
Q: What is a winamp "skin?"
A: A Winamp skin is a collection of pictures that replace the original winamp pictures. You can download winamp skins and make your winamp look whichever way you want.
Q: What version of winamp are these skins for?
A: Winamp 2.x. I won't make skins for that new, fancy-shmancy 3.x winamp. It's just too much stuff. I like to keep stuff nice and simple, and most of the skin sites I see are still making 2.x skins.
Q: How do I install these things???
A: Check out the installation page for full details.
Q: What are those music files on the pictures of your winamp? Do these come with music?
A: Sadly, no, they don't. The music files you see in the playlists of the preview pictures were music I was playing at the time I took the snapshot.
Q: Are you going to add more subjects?
A: Of course I will add more subjects. Just give me time.
Q: What graphics program to you use?
A: Good old Paint Shop Pro.
Q: Where did you learn to make winamp skins?
A: I learned from a tutorial online (that unfortunately no longer exists).
Q: I have a page about (insert subject here), can I use your winamp skin/desktop/icons on my page?
A: Of course you can! However, there are a few rules. First, email me, stating that you want to use a skin/desktop/whatever on your page. Second, do not direct link. Please download it and upload it to your own space. Third, please provide a link back to Innovation. Thanks!
Q: Do you take requests for winamps/desktops/icons?
A: No, sorry, I don't.
Q: Why don't your winamps have equalizer buttons (or some other feature)?
A: Well, for one, I don't know exactly how to mess with the equalizer buttons. Two, I make winamp skins more for the picture and less for all the gadgets. Leaving the equalizer blank leaves lots of room for imagery. I always, always, leave in the basics, but I will often leave out other things that aren't quite as necessary (like the mono/stereo buttons, the repeat and random buttons, stuff like that).
