Tsubu Woods

Tsubu Woods is probably my favorite spot in the Perna region. Here the changing of the seasons is most obvious, as the woods change from hues of green to brown to blue over and over again. Tsubu Woods is also the place where the most wildlife and plant life can be seen. It is also here that Fin Fin gets his supply of Tsubu nuts.

Flora

Angel Heart Iris
Grows: Mid April - Late April
A pretty purple flower with two yellow stalks coming out of its middle and three petals.
no picture yet! Butterfly Orchid
Grows: Mid March - Mid April
True to its name, the Butterfly Orchid does indeed look like a butterfly. Four orange-pink petals make the wings, two yellow stalks are the antennae, and the middle is the body.
no picture yet! Cactune
Grows: February - Mid March
A truly strange looking plant, the Cactune reminds one of a Venus Flytrap, with a mouth-like opening surrounded by tiny prickles. In the center of this "mouth" is a glowing thing. Below the "mouth" is the cactus-like plant.
Calling Lily
Grows: Mid July - Early August
The Calling Lily is a sugar pink lily with a dark pink center and a dark blue leafy bottom. I have never actually heard them call, so I do not know if that is why they are named that.
Kusadama
Grows: August - September
The Kusadama is NOT listed in the Fin Fin Encyclopedia, so I don't know what the English name would be (I found the name for this plant on the official Japanese site). This is a basically a ball-like seed pod which opens up to reveal a black seed towards the end of September.
Mushbulb
Grows: November
Basically what this is is a glowing mushroom. It's short and fat, and only lights up at night. During the day time, it is gray-colored.
Samba Flower
Grows: Late September - Early November
A very brightly-colored flower consisting of the colors yellow and red, with a green stalk. The flower kind of reminds me of a hat for some odd reason.
Star Flower
Grows: Late May - Early June
Another glow-in-the-dark plant. This flower is shaped like your average five-pointed star, and is colored dull yellow. At night time it lights up to a brighter yellow and glows in the dark.
Stone Flower
Grows: June - Mid July
This is a many-petaled red flower with a yellow center. It grows out of a blue stone. Strangely, the stone is NOT there year round. Unless it's hiding and I can't see it. It is kind of odd to think that a stone would just... appear when the flower starts growing, but you never know with Teo.
Two Lips
Grows: December - January
Well... this flower seems to consist of big red kissy lips. According to the Fin Fin Encyclopedia, Fin Fin will come and sing with these lips. I have never seen this happen, and frankly, the idea scares me.
White Winter Tear
Grows: December
A pretty, delicate-looking, tear shaped flower. It seems like there are a lot of delicate-looking white flowers growing around December. It must be to make up for the fact that it never snows.

Fauna

Bat Fly
Length: 30 - 40 cm
This creature is basically just like a bat, except it doesn't really have a body. It seems to only consist of a head with two huge glowing green eyes connected to a large pair of wings. It makes a high-pitched squeaking noise.
Freaky Bird
Length: 20 - 40 cm
The Freaky Bird is a small brown bird with no feathers and a long tail. It looks very much like a pterodactyl. It makes a chiming and quacking noise.
Glowing Jelly Fish
Length: 30 - 40 cm
This bright light blue-colored jellyfish is not a water-dwelling creature, it lives on land. Actually, it floats in the air, moving up and down as a normal jellyfish would in the water. There is a purple ball in the middle of it (its brain, perhaps?). It makes a sloshy noise as it moves.
Palm Tree Snake
Length: 50 cm
This snake is green in front, and the back half of it is pink. The end of its tail ends in a palm tree-shaped appendage that sticks up into the air. It makes a winding noise as it moves, as if someone was turning a crank.
Pepperfish
Length: 20 - 50 cm
The Pepperfish is one of my favorite Teo creatures. This is a big fish with long legs, big feet, and large eyes. It has large, brightly colored fins, and green skin.
Spidasaures
Length: 30 - 50 cm
A very strange creature (and no, that's not a typo; that's how the Fin Fin Encyclopedia spells its name). This a green dinosaur-looking animal, except it is quite small and has six legs. It has green "sails" on both its back and head. It makes a noise like a spring.
no picture yet! Strange
Length: ??
This... thing... is rarely ever seen at all. I have only seen it once. It floats in the air and makes no noise at all, and seems to be just drifting along in the breeze. It is glowing and yellow, and appears to be just a blob.
Tree Cat
Length: 50 - 80 cm
This is a brown-colored monkey-type animal. It has a long tail, and big ears. It will bound into view, hop on the side of the tree, and stare into space until it decides to leave. It is nocturnal, and usually only appears at night.
V-Rex
Length: 3 meters
A big, wicked-looking creature, which lumbers around slowly, making loud, mechanical stomping noises. It has huge, sharp teeth set in an enormous snout. Fin Fin flies off whenever it comes around.
