Secret Inlet

The Secret Inlet is a very
beautiful and quiet place where Fin Fin likes to come to relax. The only sound
is a distant trickling of water, and you can see that the inlet leads to Rem
River in the distance. Fin Fin likes
it to stay quiet here, so your best bet when he is here is to be quiet and just watch.
If you call to him, he might get irritated and fly away. If not, he might play
in the water, hum, perform acrobatics, or catch a fish. Fin Fin's wife, Finnina, sometimes, but rarely,
makes appearances here.
Flora
 |
White Secret
Grows: February
A beautiful little white flower with a short growing period. |
 |
Perna Lotus Flower
Grows: Late May - Mid August
The Perna Lotus is very exotic-looking. The bloom is pink; the
lily is green. Although throughout May to August the lily is visible, the
appearance of the actual bloom is unpredictable. I think it mostly
blooms in the morning, but I don't think there is really a set pattern. |
 |
Royal Crown Flower
Grows: Late November - January
Unlike most of the flora in Fin Fin's territory, the Royal Crown plant is visible all
year round, although it only blooms in winter. It is a rather large and
strange-looking flower. |

Essie
Length: 1 - 1.5 meters
Essie is a purple sea serpent type of creature with has two heads,
six legs and no rear! It can maneuver on land as well as in water, but on
land it is very slow. It makes a whistling sound. |
 |
Finnina
Length: 90 cm
Finnina is Fin Fin's wife! She looks mostly like him, except she
is more plump, and is a bright minty-green color. She is so cute! It's too
bad we don't see more of her. |

Gabby Fish
Length: 80 - 100 cm
This is a big, fat purple fish. It will come to the surface of the
water and make
a gurgling sound. It has big bright red
lips, and looks very silly. |
 |
Glowing Jelly Fish
Length: 30 - 40 cm
This jellyfish mostly comes out at night. It glows a bright blue
color, with purple markings and a purple ball of some sort in its center.
Unlike most jellyfish, this one does not have to stay in the water! It
floats in the air, moving up and down like any normal, water-dwelling jellyfish. |
 |
Heartbird
Length: about 80 cm
This flamingo-like bird has most of its body parts shaped like
hearts, like something out of an art project. It might stand in the
water on one leg, and stare at you, or maybe catch a fish, but also it
will walk onto land and maybe find a Palm Tree
Snake to eat. Besides Fin Fin and the Shell Beatles in Amile Forest, it
seems to be the only creature that is aware of your presence. |
 |
Night Froggy
Length: 40 - 50 cm
I have only seen the Night Froggy at night (hence the name). It can leap quite a long
distance. It makes a strange, unearthly thumping sound. When it has
found a good spot, it will lie still, open its mouth very wide, and
shine a light from a stalk on the top of its head down into its mouth.
My guess is that it attracts insects to the light and then eats them. |

Palm Tree Snake
Length: 50 cm
This long, half green and half pink snake has a palm tree-shaped
appendage for a tail. So far I haven't seen anything to show that this
tail has any purpose other than looks. The Palm Tree Snake is usually
seen at the Inlet when it is being eaten by a Heartbird. |

Pepperfish
Length: 20 - 50 cm
This is a bright green fish with legs. It runs very fast, and
makes a squeaky noise as it goes (sounds like wet rubber). It has very large
eyes, a large, brightly-colored dorsal fin, and long legs with big
webbed feet. |
 |
Piki Seal
Length: 1 meter
The Piki Seal is bright yellow, with brown flippers, a white
underbelly, strange bumps on its back, and long white whiskers. This is the only animal I have ever
really seen that actually plays with Fin Fin. The Piki Seal will come
into the inlet with a piece of wood for a raft, and if Fin Fin is
around, they will play for quite some time together. |
 |
Pom Pom
Length: 20 cm
The Pom Pom also appears at the Secret Inlet, but I have only
seen it at night here. At night time, it glows in the dark. |
 |
Terraphant
Length: 70 - 90 cm
The Terraphant looks like some strange cross between a turtle and
an elephant. It is gray, has stumpy feet, two large
flappy ears, a trunk., and also a large green turtle-like
shell covering most of its back. It walks upright on its hind legs. |
